The Birth of Jesus Christ

Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is Christ the Lord.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? We have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him. And the star which they saw in the east went before them until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. The sight of the star filled them with great joy, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
